RedSpider Image Archive

Imagery Management and Diffusion through Web-Services

The RedSpider® Image Archive is designed to help organizations deploy a scalable imagery management solution. It offers an efficient way to search on-line information and allows direct access to data and portrayed images. Once registered, your imagery is immediately available through OGC® compliant web services.

Every day, huge amounts of imagery data are acquired from a wide variety of airborne and space-based sensors. Once received and dynamically registered in the Image Archive’s Catalog, imagery are immediately available for complex searching through a CS-W interface, and ready to be served by the WCS and WMS interfaces.

RedSpider® Image Archive supports a wide variety of users from generalists to highly specialized image analysts. It allows them to efficiently lookup the information, browse, visualize and retrieve the resulting imagery in order to make timely and correct decisions.

Power Search

RedSpider® Image Archive supports searching large, highly dynamic imagery databases. Images can be organized and discovered using a wide variety of parameters including spatio-temporal criteria and metadata keywords.

RedSpider® Image Archive allows archive managers to define logical aggregations of imagery data in a hierarchical structure. Aggregates can be based on categorical definitions such as season, weather events, sensors or resolutions. Associations between metadata values and aggregates can be defined to enable dynamic categorization of imagery.

Ascendant metadata aggregation through the hierarchy and automatic metadata generation give users immediate access to information and the ability to perform powerful searches.

Processing and Output

RedSpider® Image Archive provides on-the-fly spatial sub-setting, dynamic mosaicing, band selection, coordinate transformation, r-set generation and management and format conversion for any data type and structure. Custom processing services can be included within the existing processing chain.

RedSpider® Image Archive supports a wide variety of imagery data formats, using image translation libraries such as GDAL. In addition, RedSpider Image Archive can be integrated with custom image decoders and encoders, to support proprietary or classified imagery formats.

RedSpider® Image Archive incorporates Very Large Coverage Management which is capable of reading, processing, portraying and producing multi-gigabyte sized coverages and images.

Portrayal

RedSpider® Image Archive has a built-in portrayal engine that provides on-the-fly contextual rendering through the OGC® Web Map Service (WMS) interface, with Style Layer Descriptor (SLD) support. This allows data providers and users to define their own styles for portrayal and image processing. Subsets or mosaics of imagery can be visualized in many different ways, allowing multiple user-defined maps and coverages to be generated from a single source.
